Dive La Digue Beyond the Obvious

At Trek Divers, we do not choose dive sites just because they are the usual ones. We choose them according to the day, the conditions and the divers on board.

La Digue has a special underwater landscape, with granite formations, reef life and dive sites that often feel more surprising than many divers expect. We are often alone on the dive sites, and we regularly explore new spots around the islands. Some of those sites are places we are currently the only ones to dive. Of course, the ocean still shapes the final plan. But our local knowledge helps us choose dive sites with more care and take you beyond the most obvious routes.

Questions Before Your Daily Dive Trip in La Digue

Daily Dive Trips are for certified divers.

When you contact us, send your certification level and when you last dived, so we can confirm which option makes sense for you.

Yes, but please tell us when you last dived before booking.

If it has been a while, we’ll help you understand whether the morning trip, the afternoon dive or another option is better for your comfort and level.

Diving insurance is not included.

If you already have diving insurance, please bring the details with you or keep them on your phone. If you do not have it, tell us before your dive and we’ll guide you.

Please bring your diving certification.

If you have your logbook, proof of recent dives or diving insurance details, it is useful to bring them too.

Yes. You can bring your own dive equipment if you prefer.

Equipment is also included for Daily Dive Trips, so just tell us what you need when you contact us.

If you are bringing your own dive equipment, please bring it with you to the dive centre. If you are diving with us for several days, ask us about leaving your equipment safely on board, so you do not need to move it every day.

No. For Daily Dive Trips, we meet at our dive centre in La Passe.

Most guests move around La Digue by bicycle or walking. If you need transport, please arrange a taxi or golf buggy through your accommodation.

Yes. If you only need part of the equipment, let us know before the trip.

We can prepare the gear you need, so everything is easier when you arrive.

Yes, you can tell us if you have a specific dive site request.

Dive sites are chosen with diver level, safety and the day’s plan in mind. When possible, we’ll do our best to consider your request.

Marine life changes from day to day, so we can never guarantee a specific animal.

Depending on the dive site and conditions, divers may see reef fish, rays, turtles, sharks, octopus and many other species around La Digue.

We will always be honest with you: the ocean is not a zoo. What we can do is choose dive sites with care, according to the day’s conditions, your level and the best chances for a good dive.

If sea conditions are not suitable, we will adjust the plan or cancel the dive if needed.

Safety comes first. If we need to cancel because conditions are not suitable, nothing is due.

Choose the Morning Dive Trip if you want two guided boat dives from La Digue and the afternoon free.

Choose the Afternoon Single Dive if you prefer one shorter dive option later in the day. The afternoon dive depends on availability, sea conditions, the day’s schedule and minimum numbers.

Yes. Non-diving companions can join the boat for 20€, depending on availability.

They are welcome to relax on board, but snorkelling is generally not possible during these dive trips.

No. You should not fly straight after diving.

As a general rule, wait at least 12 hours after a single no-decompression dive and at least 18 hours after multiple dives or several days of diving before flying.

If you have done deeper dives, repetitive diving, or anything outside normal no-decompression limits, it is safer to leave a longer interval. When in doubt, allow 24 hours before flying.
